**On Out** from The Square and Compass, North Rigton. Please park around the village, **NOT** in their car park, as the ON INN is elsewhere. This is a really pretty trail catering for everyone: WIMPS (1 mile), WALKERS (2.5 miles) and RAMBOS (4.5 miles). **The HUNTERS** in Pool in Wharfedale are welcoming us for the **ON INN**, about 2 miles from North Rigton, west on A658. The Hunters has no food but there is a Farm Shop next door and our HARES will bring some sandwiches as well, so letting them know if you intend to come would be appreciated. This is the last trail before AGPU - so come along to hear all about it. 'Be there' or be ''Square'' !!

From Leeds enter Horsforth on the A65. After Tesco Express turn left after 2nd set of pedestrian lights into Victoria Gardens then almost immediately left into the car park. It would be useful to have some indication if you are coming.

There is an uphill to start but it can be taken steadily. The Panorama Walk is then quite level. A downhill to the river to walk back to Pateley. 19th June is perfect for, The Yogi Bear 🐻 BBQ run campout weekend 😋 in Cusworth Village next to the Hall and grounds north of Doncaster. This year with solar power enchanted toilet, and soon to be installed log burning stoves to provide a fully functional Hashing solution for a memorable weekend close to the longest day. Book early for the best spots 👌 🐾. ***Yogi's 'Birthday Weekend'*** is upon us. BBQ tonight (18th June), tents ⛺️ and semi-al-fresco gazebo in the front garden with Easy Access to the enchanted solar powered toilet. Sunday run 🏃‍♂️ from The Sun pub less than 1 mile from the village, on the junction of York Rd and Barnsley Rd Lots of parking and outside space for noisy Hashing people. Train station interchange buses include no 41 Scawsby Woodlands and Skellow just ask for the Sun Inn as its always been known. The Runners trail 👣 will be reasonably long and flat,with a shorter scenic Walking trail, both joining at the pub beer stop so money required. After the circle at the Sun 🌞 the on on is the continuation of the BBQ from the night before. Parking space is tight in the village centre, so either share lifts or walk from the pub.

SH4 invites YH3 to Grope's (Sunset Strip) Birthday Hash. Park in Low Street near the church, but the On Inn will be a BYO picnic in front of the playground just to the west of the primary school further down Low Street (YO61 4QA) Please leave the three parking spaces for parents and make sure you leave space for birthday cake and a beer or two. Runners and walkers will set off at 11.

One of my favourite walks. Easy 5/6 miles by the river towards Grassington. Over the River & then by Linton Falls & Thorpe on the return. Depending on what people want we could go up into Grassington but that would make the walk longer. A decision can be made on the day. Only a short walk from Ilkley rail station. Lots of free parking on Denton Road. A challenging trail ⛰ of 10km for Rambos 🏃‍♂️and a flat trail of around 5km for Wimps.🚶‍♂️There will be cake.🎂

NB - normal SUNDAY time - i.e.11 AM. Flossie and Evers have stepped in at last minute. NB it's Leeds Half Marathon Day, so allow extra time to get to Shadwell. The Race goes from city centre along Meanwood Road, Stonegate Road, Ring Road, Kirkstall Road back to city centre. Many road closures along the route.

A walk of 5/6 miles. Had hoped for bluebells but will need some warm weather to bring them out. Not far to The Hunters for a drink after. A snack or packed lunch advised as nowhere en route to get anything.

Walkers and Runners trails, will include 2 Beer Stops which will include a good spread of FOOD. ***ON-INN*** will be convenient for trains and buses. The Old Unicorn is a Wetherspoons pub. There will be an interesting hash quiz during the trail so bring a sharp pencil. There is a small carpark at the pub not recommended as it gets very busy. Over the road is a shoppers carpark with a bigger one behind the shops though after 2 hours there is a small charge. On street parking nearby. Lick It Up's 81st birthday trail (3 to the power 4) and Jake the Peg's 1000th run (10 to the power 3)!

You'll be seeing in seven dimensions by the time we're finished with you!

Meet from 1130 (or earlier, if you like) for 1200 (approx) start.

It's an A to B trail, so we'll transport your bags to the to the On Inn.

On Out (Wetherspoons) is 150 yards from Shipley Railway Station and Zero yards from Market Square (where all the buses stop), so take advantage as this will get messy on the alcohol front.

On Inn (mystery venue) is also within easy striking distance of all transport options.

The festivities will go on all afternoon and maybe into the evening, so it's best to clear your diary.

9km for the runners and 5.2km for the walkers, both options having several stops on route.

Whichever you choose, it's a proper hash, so put on your shiggy shoes (rather than your dancing ones).

If needed, we also have options for folk who may struggle with some of the off-road bits.

It's nearly 34 years since Jake's first run (209, Abbey at Newlay, 18 April 1988) and a wee bit longer since LIU's debut on planet Earth, so come along and join the YH3 party of the year.

Rough numbers for catering would be useful, so please let us know if you'll be there (although prior notification isn't compulsory).

If you have not been before this pub is actually two separate pubs in one building. We meet in the back of the two pubs. Because of family commitments and zoom meetings the trail will be one hour long. Some of the out trail will be used to get us back so you may see two sets of arrows pointing in opposite directions. If the weather is anything like it was last year no attempt at laying a trail will be made. It will just be a hash drink to celebrate another birthday for Wheels silly old bugger that he is and a guitar might make an appearance. The 10.55 am train from leeds gets into crossgates at 11.01am

We'll have to defer the lights run for a second year on the trot.

Last week it looked feasible, but not now, unless we want to pile significant extra risk on whether we can see our families during the next couple of weeks.

We already had a significant number of people drop out before this decision was made, but it's up to individuals, of course, if you feel it's safe to meet up unofficially.

We'll look forward to putting on another "Proper" do when the environment becomes safer again, hopefully not too far into 2022.

The car park is 100 yds down hill on the right from the junction of Bilton Lane and Woodfield Poad. I have done a recci for my walk in the beautiful Nidd Gorge A.O.N.B. It took me just over 2 and a half hours without stopping so I think it must be around 5 miles. It is flat with 2 or 3 slopes no undulations. It will be muddy. On on. Stiffy

It seems we might have one of our favourite bus replacement services on the day, slightly fouling up the journey from Leeds. The 9.45 from Leeds, which would usually arrive in Guiseley just 11 minutes later, is now likely to take 38 minutes, arriving at 10.23. Or there’s the 10.45, which arrives at 11.23. The bus takes 49 minutes, leaving at 10.15 and arriving at 11.04. If we need to change the start time from 11am to something more democratically acceptable, just let me know. There’s no food at The Ings. So, for those who want to eat, we can move on to one of the other nearby pubs later in the afternoon. Or perhaps a curry. Plenty of options.

As we ease out of lockdown and back to the hairdressers, this Sunday's hashing theme is 'Last of the non-Mohicans' - a celebration (or perhaps a denigration) of all things endangered or deceased.

Virtual hashing itself may be superseded in the near future, but we need it a little longer before we can all meet safely in one place.

With that in mind, your task this week is to post as many images and as much ribaldry in 90 minutes of anything rare, extinct, anachronistic, defunct, outmoded, obsolescent or otherwise gone off to join the choir invisible.

Factual and fictitious, real and imaginary are all permitted of course.

Usual etiquette: 1400 nominal kick-off for circle at 1630.

Your theme (courtesy of my SPAD) is "Hash Symbols".

You are to collect circles, crosses, arrows, (back arrows?), BS, HV, etc. symbols out there. And not draw your own, I mean find ones that exist for other reasons - natural and manmade: architecture, landscape features and the like. Prizes awarded for number of qualifying symbols photographed.

Usage of bicycles is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification.

As last time, your trail begins 1400. Circle will be at 1630, or whenever the RA turns up, whichever is later.

Theme for this Sunday's trail is "Hash Haunts, Ancient and Modern".

Objective is, within the space of 90 minutes, to visit (and post pictures of) as many On Inns, Beer Stops and Party Venues that YH3 has terrorised since its inception in 1981.

These could be pubs, clubs, houses, outdoor spaces or even demolition sites as applicable.

This trail is in honour of Magnum, as he's evidently spent far more time in these places than at home, wherever he's been living over the years.

Word of warning - locations pictured by more than two hashers (whether by accident or design) will be treated as a breach of VD (Virtual Distancing) regulations.

I'll leave our esteemed RAs to work out criteria and sentencing - particularly as one of them is also Stat Man.

Trail departs at 1400 from our respective locations (or set out when you're able if 1400 doesn't work). Circle up at 1630.

Its the Leap Year Hash! Or the leap into the unknown as YH3 breaks through the 2000 barrier with option of food after the run (pay as you go).Setting off from this great hash pub with their wide selection of Real ales and apparently other quality drinks are available but I can't say we have ever got around to them. The run will start at 2pm so plenty of time to get a train to either Dewsbury (West Riding Refreshment Rooms at the station) or Wakefield (no bar at the station) and if you manage to travel in a group share a taxi to the pub. Our intention is to try and keep the run as Shiggy free as possible with one beer stop. The pub starts food at 5.30 for those that fancy a meal after the run.

Meet 11.00 a.am. in Pateley Bridge at Bottom of High Street at jct. with Nidd Walk for 5 mile amble. There are car parks in vicinity and also just over bridge at the showground.

Brillo takes you on his Valentine's trail and to the brink of a new millennium. The run will start and finish in the Rugby club car park. Once everyone is back it will be a short drive to the On Inn at 1904 at Dean Clough, 36 Lee Bridge, HX3 5AT where we have run from several times in the past and the Landlady has agreed to put on some food for us.

Post Dewsbury 10k run. LW is doing Dewsbury 10k and the only way he can be sure to get to the YH3 run is to set it! with a bit of help from Easy. Very Easy to get to hop on a train and get off at Dewsbury. We are still collecting for the Aussie charities and 19th is promising a quality raffle and the proceeds will go in the pot along with last weeks collection.

Post AGPU run and it's Australia day! so we are having an Australian themed run and we will be collecting for the ONONforOZ group to help Bush fire related charities. It's the Saturday Trail! HRT and Footloose have come up with a great A to B run starting from the Hotel with Runners and Walkers trails all finishing off at quite a unique venue. Return transport will make sure you have plenty of time to get ready for the legendary Black Tie Dinner.

Road dips with Tesco on your left then goes up to traffic lights - stay in the left-hand lane and go straight on downhill towards Sowerby Bridge. 300-ish yards on take the signposted left** to Sowerby Bridge and 100 yards down there turn left along Edwards Road - the pub is an ornate building 200 yards on the left; turn sharp left immediately before it for the car park. Next Sundays joint Yorkshire, Scarborough, Newcastle and Harrogate run. The pub is the Tap on Tower Street, 31 Tower Street, Harrogate, HG1 1HS. It's a 11.15am start and there will be a run/walk a beer stop. £6 a head includes food back at the pub. Last year's run in York was a great day out so let's make it a good one.

My reading of the timetable is that there is a train from Leeds 10.12 no changes arriving at 10.29 or one leaving at 10.24 arriving 10.59 with a change at Shipley. We can pick up from Burley station. The landlord has said he will open at 11.00 for use of the toilets and he has set aside a room for us. Pub does serve food.

Meet 10.50 for an 11am start at Bingley St Ives Car Park BD16 1AS for a 7-8 mile challenging walk around St Ives Estate, Harden Moor and Marley. Bring a packed lunch for a lovely picnic stop. Beer stop available near the finish. From Bingley Town Centre take the B6429 (Harden, Halifax), cross the river and follow the road up the winding hill. After about half a mile turn right into St Ives Estate. The car park is a hundred yards on the right. Car parking is free.

ON INN HAS BEEN DECIDED! The Thorn Tree has just reopened after a quite lengthy closure which had us doubting it would survive. Its had a major makeover and now has three real ales on offer and Tony the landlord is looking forward to meeting us. The run of course will be deserving of the 'It Was Good' entry in the comments book.

A pleasant 6 1/2 mile walk through oak & beech woods, lovely views over Nidderdale and back by the river Nidd.There is a hill in the first part of the walk but not a long one. An added bonus is Birchfield Farm 2 hours into the walk where you can get coffee, sandwiches, ice-cream.You can of course take your own packup.The pub at the finish is open all day but does not serve food until 6pm. Hashers to meet for the Sun run at the Obelisk in Richmond's Market Square at 11am. There will be two culture stops on the trail, 1st one for 10 - 15 mins, 2nd will include a beer stop,at this historical site toilets are provided. Food, ice-cream coffee can be purchased, the site also includes a tiny micro brewery which sells beer,cider gin tonic's. The trail will then return to the market square to the On Inn at "The Bishop Blaize" opposite the Obelisk. Food can be purchased in this pub, but anyone interested a Weatherspoons is 5mins away. Bring your camera, fingers crossed for good weather. ON ON.

YH3 Away weekend in Richmond, At 2pm please meet in the Shoulder of Mutton car park for the Sat run/walk to commence. There will be a short cut if needed, everyone will meet at the beer stop, you will need money. The Knaresborough Bed Race. This is purely a social day out for everyone to enjoy. Clueless has kindly visited several pubs in Knaresborough and none of them will take bookings due to the vast number of people who will be at this annual event. So suggest we now meet at 1.00 pm. The Mitre. This will suit hashers coming by either bus or train. The Mitre is serving food in the garden including roast sandwiches (but not a hog roast as was originally offered) from circa mid-day onwards. The procession of the various beds is circa 1.00 p.m. in The Square but it goes down the cobbled streets to Conyngham Field which is close to The Mitre where there are several entertainment stalls, bars and food stalls. The race starts circa 2.45 from Conyngham Field after the Mayor of Knaresnorough's speech and ends between 3.15 to 4.00 (the time between the fastest and slowest beds!). There are several choices regarding food if you wish to eat later or arrive late. The Royal Oak has a bbq from 12 noon onwards with live music starting at 2.00 p.m. and going on till circa 5.00 p.m. Carriages also has a bbq, probably remain open until 20.00 for drinks. The Worlds End also has a bbq. I repeat none of these venues will take bookings. Some of you may prefer to grab fish and chips in the Square but whatever food choice you prefer we will have a great day. Gosh what a choice of food! On On and see you there Ginger
